Space…. Where?

April 10, 2011 on 2:42 pm | In Information | No Comments

Ever wonder why the space you moved into has turned into a suffocating one? Well then you may have forgotten to get rid of stuff you owned and never stopped adding to. A stuffed apartment never reflects good design so getting rid of stuff is essential to keeping your space clean and clutter free.

You’d be amazed at the stuff people keep, more often than not things they’ve forgotten they had in the first place. Schedule a peek around once in a while, when you take a close look at each and every crevice of your space. From the overhead cabinets to the cabinets hidden by your new sofa, open them up and you may find stuff you’ve been missing for a long time. Take out the old and give them another life, selling is a garage sale or donated to charity for the less fortunate. There’s always more than one way to reuse old stuff so be creative and take a chance. Who knows, the recycling bug may be in there waiting to be released.

A Bright Idea Indeed

February 10, 2011 on 2:37 pm | In Information | No Comments

Tired of the way your Condo looks and feels? Well how’s about a simple yet very effective way to spruce up a boring space. Get ideas from condo catalogs or even go as far as taking a few tours of new ones out for sale. Ideas abound and a trip to the local home depot can get you some more added ideas. Swap out those old and boring globes for recycled fixtures you can get at local markets or from artists on weekend markets.

Bare bulbs getting the best of you, get fixtures that come in many shapes and sizes, they turn harsh artificial light into soothing hues. Try better energy efficient bulbs that do come in more shades and colors, now starting to come into the mainstream.

Wonder Box

According to hitslot.com, “It might not look like it, but inside this box, there’s an armoire, a desk, a height-adjustable stool, two more stools, a six-shelf bookcase, and a bed with a mattress.”

Who says an entire ensemble of furniture cannot fit in a box? Any takers? Good, none.

Actually there is this German designed thingamajig that cramped every basic piece of furniture that you know into an 80 cm x 120 cm box. And it’s called a casulo.

Is it still unbelievable? You might as well check out the pictures instead.

As of this writing, the designer still has not found the right company that will carry it for mass production. I hope that this will be out in the market soon.

You Need To Go Low

September 10, 2010 on 11:28 am | In Advantges/Disadvantges, Information | Comments Off

Space is everything when it comes to living in a condominium unit, and you would want to buy for furniture that is not too spacey and would have another function or two for that piece.

Also, in a cozy unit, you might as well would want to become comfortable with the place, and to have that comfort is to go on the ground, low – by low platform furniture.

These pieces are actually for storage as side table has a drawer, console which has two drawers, and the dresser with four drawers. But you can always double the side table and your console as a table when you are sitting on the floor while your partner is laying beside you. Now, ain’t that sweet?

What is a Condominium?

Under a condominium plan, residents hold legal title to their units, as if they were freestanding houses. In addition, they own a proportional share of common elements, like lobbies, yards, roofs, parking lots, and recreation facilities. Condominiums come in a wide range of sizes and styles, including town houses,
garden apartments, high-rise towers, and even freestanding houses sharing private
streets or courtyards.

Easy Lifestyle

October 30, 2009 on 4:03 am | In Information | Comments Off

is1.jpgMost condo living is easy to maintain and dust are unlikely to be present on coffee tables, china cabinets, and entertainment centers. As an alternative, buy double-duty furniture like day beds that can turn into a sofa and other decorative chest for storage. Unnecessary items can be stored on these and allowing more space as well for other things. The other side is that little spaces blow up anything that is less than white-glove dirt free.  If you forget to make your bed for example or clean the floor, you need to do quickly so that when you arrive with a visitor you’ll have a stress free environment.

Living together

September 15, 2009 on 11:58 am | In Information | Comments Off

The word condominium came from the Latin words ‘con’ which means together and ‘dominium’ which means property. This makes condominium as common property which is shown between people who live in a condominium. In condos, there are lots of families sharing the same building but they live in individual units. There are area where they gather such as lobbies, cafeterias, pools, activity rooms and gardens. Condo life is more complicated that living individually because you share property with yourself and you must learn to live and tolerate people living with you. Thus it is important to know what each one can do and cannot do so that you could live in harmony within shared property.

Recycled Insulating Products

June 8, 2009 on 2:10 pm | In Information, More Information, Resources | Comments Off

One of the most expensive parts of the home is the insulation which keeps the warmth from the heating system in during the colder months and keeping the cooled air within during warmer months. There used to be widespread use of cellulose wall insulation that is basically virgin paper trimmings mixed with an adhesive and some preservatives that prevents pest infestation but now, there are more recycled cellulose fillers that are good as the virgin pulp products and are very much environmentally friendly.
They are blown into the walls as they are being put up, just before they are closed up with all electrical and plumbing fixtures and pipes (please include access panels and provisions for additional installations). Adding more that you really need in terms of electrical conduits, greatly reduces the need for extensive work on the walls when they are indeed needed.
